Liverpool welcome West Brom to Anfield this Sunday

Premier League leader Liverpool welcome West Bromwich Albion for chance to extend its lead on top.

Last Saturday, the Reds crushed Crystal Palace 7-0 and with the win against Tottenham before that Liverpool have stretched their unbeaten league run on home soil to 66 games and will look to add another.

For Klopp’s side Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Kostas Tsimikas and Diogo Jota remain long-term absentees. Thiago Alcantara, Xherdan Shaqiri and James Milner all returned to training, but the manager ruled Thiago out of contention for this game. Mohamed Salah is coming back into the starting eleven in place of Minamino.

Defense problems still haunt Klopp this season as only Matip is fit enough at the center-back. Fabinho will most probably be his partner for the West Brom game as they played together agaianst Palace.

West Brom sacked manager Slaven Bilic despite fighting to a 1-1 away draw last week against Manchester City. Their first game under Sam Allardyce saw Aston Villa put them down 0-3. West Brom is at 19th place, five points away of safety, and have the worst goal difference out of every club in Premier League .

In the pre-match press conference Jurgen Klopp gave his thoughts on West Brom. “What I expect is a tough opponent against Sam Allardyce’s teams, well organized, don’t make big fuss about possession” “There will be a proper fight”, ended Klopp

West Brom will have to do without Jake Livermore for the next three games after his red card in the game against Aston Villa. Conor Townsend, Hal Robson-Kanu and Kyle Bartley are all ruled out of this game with injuries. Winger Matheus Pereira is back from suspension and expected to start.

Currently Liverpool is 1st with 31 points after 14 games and only one defeat infamous 7-2 earlier in the season against Aston Villa.

Possible starting eleven:

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Keita, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
