Dominant Liverpool smashes the Saints

Diogo Jota scored the fastest goal of this season’s Premier League on Saturday at Anfield as Liverpool smashed Southampton 4-0. It took him just 97 seconds to score and later in the first half added a second to his tally. The Saints couldn’t deal with the attack of Jurgen Klopp’s boys and conceded two more goals from Thiago and Van Dijk. This was also third win in a row in all competitions where the Reds kept clean sheet.

Klopp made six changes to the team that started the preceding win against FC Porto, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Jota brought in.

This year we had a pre-season that was a proper pre-season, which was incredibly helpful. Especially up front with Sadio and Mo, they had the longest pre-season I’m pretty sure they had for ages and that was helpful.”, Klopp explained the fruitful attacking end of his forwards.

Away trips to Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers and AC Milan are next, with Wednesday’s Merseyside derby at Goodison Park the Reds’ immediate focus.
